"Along The Way"
By Stephanie Barker ©
Well I've walked many roads, and I've traveled many miles.
Sometimes I stop and pray... along the way.
Well I crawled before I walked, and I walked before I ran.
I never meant to fall... and lose it all.
(Chorus 1) But life is hard to chase, to keep the pace, to seize the day and pave the way.
How daunting is the cost, of everything I've lost. A price I had to pay... along the way.
True hearts, I've left a few, and my own's been broken too.
I surely went astray... along the way.
My whole life was lost to sin.
Then I died and rose again.
By grace I've been washed clean... I am redeemed.
(Chorus 2) I no longer have to chase, to keep the pace, to seize the day and pave the way.
Life changing is the cost, of everything I've lost.
A price I'd pay again... along the way.
(Bridge) When every road is closed, and I wander aimlessly.
I can choose to give up, or fight to believe...
That I've got a destiny... and someone's watching over me... along the way.
Well I've weathered many a storm, and I've triumphed many a trial.
It's all just shades of gray... along the way.
Fair shades of gray... along the way.
